> We have approved a series of musical releases for our employees to listen to while working. Far better than the standard music available on Spotify, we have found that listening to “Whispers from the Water Cooler” and other corporate approved releases can increase productivity of employees by up to 20%.
> For middle-managers, we have not found this same result and have therefore have limited their listening to the only song that had any positive effect, “I’m Not Cute, I’m Handsome”, an earlier release from CORP.
Judging by the incredibly smooth video streaming, something makes me think this isn't Windows 98 at all — but rather BeOS with a Windows theme applied. Bravo!
cute!! i love it. especially the recycle bin functionality.
one little note i have is the native scrollbar in the Music 'window' - i didn't realize there was more underneath the Spotify and Apple Music links at first.
This is a really cool retro desktop UI! The aesthetic is spot on.
One thought: when clicking the 'CORP' button, instead of the browser's default alert() (or confirm() based on the text), it might enhance the immersion even more if it triggered a custom pop-up styled like a classic Start Menu. That menu could then house the links like 'Official Band Website', 'GitHub', etc. It would fit perfectly with the overall theme.
Lots of small things to pick on. Doesn't matter. This is really cool.
I've tried to build a mockup for a retro/"fantasy" OS; some details that you'd think are easy or obvious turn out to be time sinks once you try to perfect them.
Double-clicking desktop icons is broken: the site is so fast the first click opens a window, and the second click registers inside the open window. This is probably a race condition.
I wasn't deliberately looking for bugs - I just subconsciously defaulted to double-clicking when I saw the UI.

Just an idea! Love the project.

Mailing list has no way to sign up but no indication that anything broke.

It should automatically make a POST to mailchimp and and open a new page showing your successful email list subscription.
I'd be curious what is happening in your network tab or if the navigation to the mailchimp success page is disabled somehow.
Let me know your browser and system anyway, would be much appreciated! Thanks for looking nonetheless!
