I am male, and I agree that it's definitely to important to keep that in mind. I definitely believe that it's not the same for me as it is for women. But I will also say that I've been living in my current location with my female partner for over 7 years, and we often walk together, though sometimes she walks on her own too of course. I just asked her if she ever felt unsafe either, and she said "no".
