There is indeed a fine line between desktop environment and complete DE ecosystem.

Having spent a long time on i3wm, I learned a lot about how to build your own DE effectively. These days I'm on KDE but definitely don't just assume that I want to use the kTool for everything, I've brought a lot of things from my i3wm days with me.
