The first cyberpunk novel I read was True Names by Rudy Rucker. John Shirley has been called 'patient zero of cyberpunk' for his novel Eclipse. The True Names I remember was by Vernor Vinge [0]. Cory Doctorow riffed on it in 2008. But not Rudy R, as far as I know.
