Product Hunt Astroturfed?

On numerous occasions I get copy pasted DMs asking for "my support" on Product Hunt.

And it seems like PH is dominated by mostly astroturfed products.

Does anyone have any stories of their own launches on there or any advice on how to make a good impression on there without being super connected?
