First I tried (and failed) to get the printer working through CUPS, but learned a lot about ESC/POS commands and printers.
Once my Apple Shortcut worked, I wanted extras like:
- automatic dates on receipts
- a "checkbox" before each item
___
Then I went down another rabbit hole: setting up a blog.
I obsessed over which static site generator and template to use, spent a week tweaking, then scrapped it all.
In the end I realized the content matters more, so I just left the template alone.
