firing: its hard to sue a fed employee for doing their job. and its on the plaintiff to prove that firing was not a part of their responsibilities.

Federal employees are supposed to follow the law. "It was my job to break the law" is not a thing.

Unless you are the police, those do not have to follow the law. But these guys were not cops.
