Ask HN: Do smooth, wearable spinning rings (fidget-spinners) exist?

I’ve been trying to find a wearable ring that spins smoothly, similar to a small fidget spinner — something with real rotational inertia, not just a loose decorative band.

I’ve searched everywhere and only found:

“spinner rings” with friction-based outer bands

cheap Amazon versions where the rotating part falls off

designs that spin for only a few seconds

heavy or bulky rings that don’t feel wearable

What I’m looking for is something that:

is comfortable enough for daily wear

can spin cleanly with a flick

has low friction (ideally bearing-like smoothness)

stays intact longer than a few days

doesn’t click or ratchet — just smooth rotation

Does a device like this actually exist? Or is there a mechanical limitation that makes “fidget-spinner-level smoothness” hard to achieve in a ring form factor?

I’d love insight from anyone who has tried similar designs, knows materials to avoid, or understands the engineering constraints of making a tiny wearable rotor.
