Show HN: Jobstocks.ai – Live hiring momentum for 1k public companies

2 points| TalO | 3 months ago |jobstocks.ai

Hi HN — I built JobStocks.ai, a dashboard that tracks real-time hiring momentum (job postings) across 1,000+ public companies and maps hiring trends vs stock performance.

What it surfaces:

- AI-generated company insights based on hiring acceleration/deceleration. - Exclusive alternative data: normalized hiring activity across industries and peers. - Signals before the market reacts (e.g., sudden hiring freezes, unexpected team expansions). - Hiring trends are compared directly to stock trends to highlight divergences that may matter later.

Why I built it: alternative data that’s fast and actionable — hiring is often a leading indicator for revenue/cost trajectory, but is hard to track across public filings. I’d love honest feedback on the UI, the signals, and how analysts might use this data.

interesting idea.. I have some thoughts:

- % changes aren't that informative without the raw value change - filtering by country would be useful - a sample set of well-known companies would be good for new people - mucking around with scroll behaviour makes for a terrible experience. on my pixel phone, the site feels slow as all get out and some swipes to scroll move two lines while others fling me across half the page.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. The raw hiring counts are already available, the percentage changes are just one view. I recommend viewing on a desktop for the best experience. The other points you mentioned, like country filters, default well-known companies, and scroll behavior, are all great suggestions! I'll try to work on them for the next update.
