This is kind of what I want my life to look like: one pass over “top HN this week” and call it a day.

Do you literally just sort by most popular for the week and read down until you’re bored, or do you filter by tags (AI/crypto/markets) as well? I’ve found HN to be very good at surfacing conceptual/long-term AI stuff, but less so for day-to-day market moves or crypto micro-news, which is partly what pushed me into this multi-source mess in the first place.

Maybe the real answer is: HN for “what matters over months/years,” and accept that you’ll always be late on the daily noise.

I don't follow crypto, HN does the job for me for all other news and I use it the way you described.
