There are approx. 17,000 homeless people in Ireland, currently. The highest on record.

At €325 per week for rent, Ireland could house all 2,525 currently homeless families recorded in emergency accommodation, with some budget left over even after accounting for single adults.

So, either subsidize 2000 artists or house 2525 homeless families. Where are the priorities?

But artists can help the government with favorable opinions, something homeless people cannot.

one solution needs houses (key problem in the republic). The other does not.
