I love the symmetry of capacitors and inductors. It's just so elegant.

    Inductors: store energy in a magnetic field, pass DC, block AC

    Capacitors: store energy in an electric field, pass AC, block DC

I'm omitting a bunch of edge cases, but it feels so nice.

Agreed! And also,

  Total capacitance in series is 1/C1 + 1/C2, while in parallel is C1 + C2.
  Total inductance in series is L1 + L2, while in parallel is 1/L1 + 1/L2
