While I agree that human rights should be paramount, did you read the article? It specifically mentions that the highest value in the points system comes from live capture of soldiers. This is Ukraine literally giving human life a higher value.

Does Russian logistics operate in any kind of similar way?

live capture is rare. The points to kill and destroy will far outweigh the points for a live capture.

In reality, yes, because capturing is difficult. But isn't that just the reality of war? Ukraine could set the points value the same, and Ukrainian soldiers would take no prisoners. They deliberately choose not to as an expression of their values.

This system just puts an actual number on it. Do you think a less transparent system would be somehow better?
