> San Francisco’s AI startups are pushing workers to grind endlessly

Author doesn't appear to understand startup culture, which mingles ambition, youth, and possibility of huge payoff.

Not comparable, in general, to other jobs. Sure, there ARE companies or cultures where people are worked to a pulp (several Asian companies, pointing at you), but SF startup culture doesn't portend what other jobs or industries should expect.

> Lokuhitige says he works seven days a week, 12 hours a day

The app he's making[1] is an AI-driven notebook for fiction writers. Not changing the world. I don't understand the dedication.

He’s wrapped his identity in being a founder so can’t see the sacrifice/meaningless of it all.
