Their automatic driving features are ahead of other manufacturers and I think that's why people are betting on it. There's a reason market cap is high. Whether that's a good reason, or not, nobody knows. But it's not an educated take to ignore it entirely.

We do know. It's a meme stock. High retail investor participation, a cult following, and constant pumping on the social network formerly known as Twitter.

Are there just better competitors out there? I don't know anything about EVs. I just thought that their FSD is the best in the industry and can auto pilot basically anywhere and no other car can do that.

If it can't actually do that then the marketing is good and has a lot of people convinced of that.

Either one, or both, seems like a better explanation than cult mentality for a cap that big. No?

Edit: I just checked the charts, they are shipping more EVs in the US than all other brands combined. 60-80% of all EVs sold are Teslas, every quarter. I guess I'm really shocked that anyone would call that pumping. I must really be out of the loop on investment in the auto industry.
