No reasonable amount of storage would protect you from famine, it would just delay the consequences

Here in Argentina in 2015 we had a big problem when the government wanted to raise the export tax to soybean and other grains. The farmers decided to block a lot of roas and not send food to big cities.

For a week, the supermarkets were quite empty. There were huge walls filled with toilet paper packs, so it was not so obvious that food was missing. It was not so bad, so there was no famine, but it was a strange week.

In my family, we were about to make our monthly big supermarket buy, so the stock at home was quite low. Also, not hunger, but too low to be 100% relaxed. So my recommendation is to keep 15-30 days of food just in case.

In other places the problem may a a blizzard of hurricane or something.
