Something feels very off about this piece. Yes, the underlying mechanisms may not be wholly correct - every hypothesis undergoes improvement over time - but the people themselves and their dysfunction are presumably not in doubt.
I'm not a psychopath but when stressed and overwhelmed I can definitely give the appearance of being both emotionless and having zero empathy despite being a very empathetic person generally and having high emotional sensitivity. I suspect that science, being written by normies, prefers to set neuro-divergents as far apart from themselves as possible and thus tend to overstate the differences especially when you consider the historical origins of the theories
