Are you sure that's correct? I was under the impression that virtually all GPUs have hardware scalers that wouldn't harm performance.

Of course it's theoretically possible, he's saying that there isn't an option in the NVidia drivers to automatically scale up low-resolution display modes to a monitor's native resolution. Purely a software problem.

I dunno if that's true or not, but my aging ATI card definitely has an option for this, so I'd be kinda surprised if it was.
