One might find another one of Tegmark's papers of note: http://arxiv.org/abs/quantph/9907009. I've barely skimmed it, but being vaguely familiar with how decoherence a la Zurek is supposed to work (had a homework on it last year, regrettably), the timescales he notes seem about right.
