Hungry, risk-taking pioneer is better for start-up world than theory-oriented family guy with a state sponsored safety-net. Than the former will be better at liberal arts, philosophy or literature, design, luxury goods production.

Expecting to see SV in Europe is akin to expecting to see Ferrari production in the States. Some things derive from the culture and I'm a strong believer that SV is one of them.
