I've sometimes thought that sites like this could try adding another set of arrows, and then have a "good post / bad post" button and an "agree / disagree" button, but I think people would probably just vote both up or down most of the time anyway, so it might not have any effect.
However, it would allow for more control over how votes were weighted. Like, if a comment was receiving a lot of "disagree" points, but still received "good post" points, you could artificially raise the comment because it may generate some good discussion.
I wish there was a way to test something like that without requiring you to have a pretty big userbase already to test it on.
