While I think it could have been handled better, the idea of rewarding people who leak sensitive information (especially for a company like HTC, who is struggling for relevance on the brink of collapse) about flagship devices and IP is absolutely ridiculous.

Was it mind-boggling absurd that a "Communications Manager" at said company threatened and berated a kid in a public forum? Undeniably so. It's so blatantly wrong that I sit here, gobsmacked that people still say these kinds of things[0] on Twitter and then think they can deny it ever happened after they delete it.

But, really, you're asking HTC to roll out a red carpet for this kid and entice future leakers to hold company secrets hostage for prizes in the future...
