What a terrible idea. Yes key escrow is a NSA agenda they have been trying to sneak into our stack for quite some time. As if the NSA hadn't done enough damage to the cloud industry, now they are trying this shit again. American IT products are going to be totally unmarketable outside of the US. The trust is gone. The day any corporation adopts this stance is the day I ditch them. I will literally throw my iPad in the trash. Apple and Google will entirely lose the leverage their ecosystems provide if they try this.
