Research low-cost index funds. They're better than managed funds and much, much cheaper. In this day and age, the only person who you can trust managing your money is yourself - and turns out, if you're smart about it, it's not hard at all to do well.

But that doesn't change the fact that there is a large segment of the population who are not educated or disciplined enough to avoid learning about that, and they have to live their whole lives with the anxiety of mismanaged funds.
