In their "basic medicine kit": Oxycodone/acetaminophen (severe, short term pain)

Paracetamol isn't normally an alternative for oxycodone. Also, if travelling internationally, I'm pretty sure there are countries that will consider oxycodone as equivalent to heroin even if you have a prescription.

I thought coming up with primes would be very challenging, but then my first three guesses were all prime (all I did was pick numbers that ended with odd numbers that weren't five). I got it on the fourth after a few attempts at entering the number - the prime constraint here makes it easier.

There are 8,363 five digit primes. If you limit your guesses to numbers ending in 1, 3, 7, and 9, there is a 23% chance of randomly picking a prime.

> I think the reason you see so many EV announcements from Ford (and GM and Honda and Mercedes and...) in 2021 is because they all suddenly realized they need to press a panic button.

Alternatively, maybe because the traditional manufacturers timed the critical point where it made economic sense to focus on electric cars in the same way?

I doubt this is the case here. Cantonese is an official language of Hong Kong and Macau and the mother tongue of tens of millions in Guangdong. Language politics is complicated but I don't think the CCP is so crudely trying to eliminate languages. Apple also has keyboards for Uyghur and Tibetan, which are probably more sensitive languages.

Not just ocean water. From Wikipedia:

> However, it appears that Bombard may have been misunderstood in regard to the possibility of survival without fresh water. Bombard has never argued that human survival is possible only by drinking seawater. On the contrary, he indicates that seawater in small quantities can prolong survival if accompanied, if rainwater is not available, by the absorption of liquids present in the bodies of fish.

Indeed, it is not off topic when the topic is "Mapping Coronavirus, Responsibly."

One practical implication of grouping Taiwan with China is that Italy banned travel from Taiwan along with China, even though the situation in Taiwan is basically fine.

It's also not plausible that the author, a professional cartographer, just made a mistake about Taiwan.

Caixin is the best Chinese news source in normal times, and at this time all Chinese news is more free to report on the virus. As someone very critical of the CCP, I'd say Caixin's reporting here is as authoritative as anywhere.
