Not an expert, but couldn’t the mRNA vaccine target only part of the virus genome that’s stable across mutations/variants? That would give you a broad vaccine resistant to mutations

They want you to not commit fraud, they also want to catch you if you do

Right now I’m working on a heads up display using a pair of AR glasses and a pinephone. At the moment you just get the time and a battery level in the corner of your vision, but the interesting thing is the platform. Every hud app is just a Wayland client, and the apps get positioned absolutely on the screen by the compositor

Okay but we’re not talking about a product we’re talking about humans. Real people’s lives. Throwing out emotion is inherently evil.

Sorry, I wasn’t specific. I was talking about how cImport works in Zig. I didn’t know `zig cc` worked differently.

“ Zig’s @cImport builtin is unique in that it takes in an expression, which can only take in @cInclude, @cDefine, and @cUndef. This works similarly to translate-c, translating C code to Zig under the hood.” https://ziglearn.org/chapter-4/

GPU passthrough has been a game changer for me. I stream all my games from a computer in a closet running Proxmox. Windows is still there in the background, but I almost never have to interact with it

Really agree. Programming and gaming are the only things I use my laptop for. I have my iPad for CAD and art, everything else I do on my phone. All my trip planning is done on there, all my finances, everything on the phone.

Are there a lot of mobile web games?

2fast4you | 3 years ago

It’s been a bit since I was in the cheap android phone market, but those phones don’t work as well as you say. Calling texting probably work fine, but I doubt Uber or maps will work great or at all. Anything internet heavy like that and you’re gonna be crazy frustrated

Copy and paste works great on my apple device. I can even copy and paste between devices. What are you talking about?

2fast4you | 3 years ago

Have you considered swapping Windows and Linux? Depending on your use case, you can still get pretty good performance out of virtualized Windows if you use PCI-E passthrough

> what's the point of capability if you're never going to use it.

The point is to use them on a real danger. Accurate or not, the Pentagon clearly doesn’t see this ballon as a threat in any capacity. Why would they do anything other than keep an eye on it?

2fast4you | 3 years ago

Yup. Apple really set the bar. I’ve never expected battery life like this from my laptop. Now that I know I can get the same(or better) performance with much higher efficiency, I’m never going back.

My laptop doesn’t heat up anymore. It doesn’t die. If it has fans, they’re absolutely silent. All this, and I haven’t had to change my workload at all.

If you’ve had some success with an existing model, I think I’ll explore the idea with GPT3! Getting the prompt right is gonna be tricky, do you remember how you got AI Dungeons to play along?
