I'm sorry you've been burned, but you keep repeating yourself a lot in your comments, and your criticism isn't always on point. If you worked your ass off for 0.02% in a failed start-up, maybe part of the blame can be put on yourself? Live and learn.

Furthermore, while "connections" are important in business and financing (and always will - it's called human nature), I don't think it's ever been easier to raise money for the young unconnected entrepreneur.

I'd suggest you take a chill pill.

PS: The article you are commenting on isn't even on selling the dream to prospective employees, but on pitching well at Y combinator.

He is obviously talking metaphorically. He knows he is not competing with you or with any of the many people listening to his talk. The point is, people in your playing field using better tech than you will win over you.

I like the concept (and I like the name a lot, excellent find). As the comments here make clear, many people experience the same "funk" and would be interested in paying for such a product. Hope you get to raise money and make progress on this very soon. Much sillier ideas have been funded before..

This article is the best illustration possible of the saying: "You don't know what you don't know".

Eg, the author's pics are pretty awful but he doesn't have the eye to see it.

A while back, I was setting up a shot and trying different approaches for several minutes with my DSLR. A friend laughed at me, whipped out his phone, took a pic, and showed me an awful picture saying "See? What's taking you so long?".

Good point. We have so forgotten how bad it used to be, that 40 mins seems so long. Kings weren't able to talk to their ambassadors in 30 mins, not that very long ago.

Honestly this felt like a very arrogant post. OKCupid may not be perfect, but it's far and away the best site out there, and loved by most of its users.

Furthermore the founder wasn't a dick to you in his comment. So all in all, I'm not sure trashtalking him/OKC is going to help you.
