On the other hand we never had so much knowledge.

Your comment reads as an excuse in why it's okay that we are that slow.

I bought an HTC vive pro + wireless + index Ctrl.

I did that to play around as I was playing with 3d programming and I'm a nerd.

And while friends and family know that and a few tried it out for a little bit and liked it, no one cares.

Which is fine but it is a gimmick.

I was hoping it would get more traction with real life training like how to use a lathe but nothing really came out or is in some internal companies.

It's inhuman.

It's gimmicky?

I'm really curios of Fashion conces people really like avatars. I don't think so and I also don't think that the apple brand is a good fit for it.

Real life Avatars with light enhancements will also be weird I think

Let's see.

I do not share.your enthusiasm.

Apple buyers are not necessarily tech savvy (from a percentage perspective).

They use their high end phones for normal consumer things.

I have a hard time imagining what a normal person would want to do with VR/are glasses.

Showing your face in a Videochat? Not being able to show your face?

Playing games?

I would assume that there is still a lot of apple people not playing anything than casual games.

Funny enough: the trust in darknet comes from customer ratings, seller deposit and moderators.

Not from Bitcoin.

A great example on why 'trust' only works for everything inside the Blockchain only.

It's not crap just because you don't see a benefit.

In my opinion, additional being a curios software engineer I find it quite interesting.

Necessary? Perhaps not but helpful.

Heating valves for example.

Another though I had when I saw dall-2 and imagine:

We optimized away the 'physical doing' thing of creating new content.

It's only a question of time until video imagine will be able to create real relevant new content.

No one needs meta when we are already quite happy to stair at a cheap 2d screen.

Deritiod | 3 years ago | on: Algorithms could increasingly influence human culture

I think YouTube is doing this already.

Games as well.

We are getting addicted to content creators, they get addicted by money, views and the algorithm.

Tv was similar but yt is much bigger, catches mich more people and is much more diverse.

Deritiod | 3 years ago | on: Algorithms could increasingly influence human culture

I'm thinking about this for a while and I believe we are already in the 3th stage of evolution of evolution:

Evolution 1: fittest survive

Evolution 2: human brain + being able to remember gave us glasses and stuff which breaks the fittest survive

Evolution 3: the internet as a huge brain. Tons of input, tons of processing and tons of output

Evolution 4: manifesting the data in the internet into ML models. Creating a new entitiy

Evolution 5: our brain gets overtaken by ai. Perhaps robots?

I don't know Im no longer feel save with >4tb drives and raidz1.

I run two offline Nas (I unpower them and do scrabing every month) and have one with raidz2 for all critical things like my photos.

To resilver 8tb takes ages and while he wrote his thoughts on it, I was missing the repair risk calculation

I assumed you would say that the programmers should start working for the school system but your final description.of problems is not difficult to solve.

The teachers are the problem.

After all I was also sitting in school for 13 years
