Not particularly motivated to support Lebedev, but my understanding regarding the bus stop benches is that they are uncomfortable on purpose, so people won't sleep on them. London's bus stops have these seats as well.

Iris | 15 years ago | on: Patriot Act extended four more years, USA in fourteen year state of emergency

What was suprising to me, is that this hasn't been the longest continuous interval in which the US was in a state of emergency. Apparently:[1]

"During the Watergate scandal which erupted in the 1970s after President Richard Nixon authorized a variety of illegal acts, Congress investigated the extent of the President's powers and belatedly realized that the U.S. had been in a continuous state of emergency since 1950....The Act terminated the emergency of 1950 on September 14, 1978"

So,currently only halfway through the US's longest state of emergency, which lasted 28 years.

If you watch carefully you can see the salamander embryo changing shape - becoming a bit more egg-shaped intead of round. And you can also notice, near the end, the deposit of algae on the side, before they enter the egg. I'm pretty sure that's what it is meant to demonstrate.

That's a silly thing to say, not all women rally for women empowerment and not all women go about flaunting their female charm (whatever you may mean by that).

What I'm trying to get at - there's no point looking for contradictions in a group that doesn't abide by a single idealism. Now if the OP tells you that equal treatment is of the foremost importance to her, then feel free to rub the contradiction in her username in her face.
