Is it really all that hard to have a demo site for these things? It would be a lot of fun to play with crossing pictures. I'm guessing it's because using a graphics card in the browser isn't good enough yet?

Agreed, this is why IMO it's much better to set up a tank with fish you can eat (Tilapia was mentioned in the article, but I've seen rainbow trout setups as well).

Makes paying for fish food a little better, because you get a delicious form of protein as well.

The company would save on buying computers and just get everyone work phones (galaxy devices). Seems like that would be best for a non technical workforce anyway. Support and Sales are always on the phone.

I bet this would be great for an operations, sales, support or any pother non technical role. The company would only have to buy docs and monitors and then the workforce can just swap out their mobile devices from meeting room to desk etc... I see a large enterprise or student play here if they have the vision to market it.

I had the same problem as OP. I fixed it by eating most of a small can of peanut butter a day, and working out (lifting, not a lot of cardio) 4-5 times a week.

JeffreyKaine | 9 years ago | on: Ask HN: Where do you find great designers?

The best designers either already have a job, or are doing the freelance thing. So I suggest that you start with identifying companies that you think have good design and start looking through linkedin for the designers that work there. Next, reach out for a coffee/drink and see how amenable they are to talking about design at your company. If it's the right fit, the designer will be excited and you can move on to a more formal interview process. If the designer is happy where they are, ask if they know anyone who might be interested.

My funnel looks like this: -reach out to about 50 designers -15 of them are open to coffee -1 of those 15 are open to an interview

Note about freelancers: they tend to like the lifestyle that freelance provides. I've had luck with hiring on freelancers as part time contractors that actually show up on site, then gradually convincing them to join up full time.
