During the Victorian era arsenic was known to be poisonous yet "Arsenic Complexion Wafers" were advertised in newspapers claiming that it would remove freckles and pimples. Yet no one in their right mind would argue preventing arsenic from being peddled is an infringement on free speech.
Furthermore, proving deceptive intent is not necessary under false advertising law. The deception of the advertisement is considered alone.
People who are opponents to laws like these on the basis of freedom seem to forget one of the fundamental tenets of it - that your freedom to throw a punch ends where my nose begins.

And there is another axis of high to low feedback in the sense of abstract (happiness) to concrete (heartrate).
I believe you might be conflating these two axes, but you made me think about it and I think it's very interesting to consider.

My first instinct is I want to see index ticker symbols overlaid on top of the sentiment chart to how well they do or don't correlate. Just showing periods of on/off correlation between tickers and sentiment in general would be an interesting visualization. Have you considered this?

Being very convinced of ones ideas, but readily willing to change them in the face of new evidence, is a trait of a person who cares a lot but also has no hidden agenda.

A couple things I predict are coming in the not too distant future:
- Continuous feedback and monitoring of blood nutrition and glucose levels.
- Continuous feedback of mood - A real life mood ring, if you will.
- Mood data being correlated with your real life activity, guiding you towards things that make you genuinely happy and away from "empty calories" (Like mindlessly scrolling).
Future regulations with teeth, but don't exist yet, are things like:
- Data portability: I should be able to export my entire Facebook account in full in a standardized format and easily transfer it to any other social network of my choosing.
- Algorithmic control: I should be able to choose which recommendation algorithms are being used on me, or opt out of algorithms entirely.
- Algorithmic transparency: As a consumer, I should be able to see something similar to what Facebook's growth team sees. What specific changes caused people in my cohort to increase their watch time by 2%? Was it better button placement, which I'd be okay with, or was it an increase in conspiracy content, which might not be?
All of these things might be huge overhauls and difficult for the social media companies to deliver, but if you are pushing content in front of billions of people's faces for hours a day you should have an equivalent immense level of responsibility.
