It’s not just drivers then afaik? It’s the entire win10, not to mention all third party drivers i guess like Razer and whatnot.

After about one year I had a simple fan issue, the fan was making high pitch noise (revving full speed) and would start up randomly.
It was likely a very minor issue... but then i felt so powerless : to fix it I’d have had to send it back and wait, my entire development environment, private files and notes, browser with possibly logged in sessions,... I mean you have to return the entire thing... it’s not like you could replace the power adapter, or screen.
I’ve been wondering about workarounds as I don’t care for "triple a" games, plenty of awesome smaller games that dont need a beefy and hot gpu.
But the only idea i have is to install the os and everything on an external SSD so at least if i have to send it for repair, I have all my dev stuff with me.
I could also have a linux install so i can even use it in theory without the mac, but then what is the point of getting the imac and its os experience right?
So I don’t know what I am missing... how are other devs comfortable with this?

Now I wonder if it’s worth upgrading for AA. I hate mobile games but there are a few good ports of pc games. And if i could play a good rogue game on my tv for smaller 20-30min sessions I’m sold.
I’m still going to upgrade because you can feel even simple apps like twitch tv are laggy on before-last gen.
