Why doesn't LoL just disable public chat? Enable chat for premades, that's it. If you're playing with your own friends you can chat. If you're playing with randoms, you don't get chat. Toxic behavior gone and people can actually, you know, play the game. The purpose is to play the game, not use it as 1998 AOL Chat Room.

1993's Secret of Mana was well known for its ring menu. I don't think radial menus are practical with mice, they fit controllers and console games better (where interacting with menus is slower).

How did you go from "started programming (for real) about 2 years ago" to recruitment offers from Google/Apple and "targeting $180K"?

Odin9 | 13 years ago | on: Is this what it’s supposed to feel like?

Just as good programmers are those fluent in many languages, a good programmer should also be fluent in many operating systems.

Hypothetically, if Mac went under and ceased to exist, do you really want to be that business that relies entirely on Mac ecosystem?

IMO Linux is simply the safest OS to rely on because it's open source.

Somewhat tangential: Are there many start-ups that allow talented tech people to build their own PC? I used to think most programmers knew hardware, but that apparently isn't or was never the case. Building PCs is second nature to me, and I could build a PC two times more performant than a Mac and probably half as expensive.

Odin9 | 13 years ago | on: Twitter Should Shut Me Down

He knows he will be shut down with or without this blog post. Twitter already knows about him.

The purpose of this blog post is to save what little of his reputation is left by making it seem like he's redeeming himself. He isn't. He's waiting for Twitter to shut him down while he keeps making money as a spammer.

Odin9 | 13 years ago | on: Twitter Should Shut Me Down

This is detestable. I hope everyone can translate this blog post accordingly. If not, here it is:

"I publicly acknowledge I'm wrong. I'm letting Twitter know they should shut me down, but I'm just going to keep riding while the money is hot. Everyone will think I'm a great guy because of this post and my reputation will be salvaged after I'm shut down."

Spammers are the lowest. If the OP has any shred of dignity left he would shut down before Twitter can do that for him.
