Has this new petition system actually made a difference? Has the goverment actually listened to an petition and formed a law or proposition around it? This is what it's about isn't it? Not just make up some lame story about a fix that never going to solve the issue.

The imperial system is quite flawed. Measuring using yards, feet etc is childish and it's in my mind not logical anywhere.

10 mm = 1 cm, 100 cm = 1 meter. vs 12 inch = 1 fot, 3 fot = 1 yard? wut?

The metric system must be alot easier to learn as a child as well. Just my opinion.

This contest has became a joke. Loreen who didn't just win last year. But got the highest amount of points possible and also the only one ever to get it. She had to cancel her conserts because nobody wanted to go to them. That about summarize the total of all crap in that contest.

The #1 ever, cant even host a consert.

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: Boy tries to rape mom, kills her, over Call of Duty ban

I actually don't even know what that amendment is good for. I haven't seen a gun in my life(except on cops) and I've managed to survive, feel safe. How many pistols per citizen are required for US citizens to feel safe, how many 10's of thousands bio/chem,nuclear weapons is required for US to feel safe?

Let's see the question in reverse at what point does weapons become more dangerous than protective for the society?

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: Boy tries to rape mom, kills her, over Call of Duty ban

Who gives a 11 year old a gun? I saw an thread on HN a couple days ago about if arms save (american-)lives. In my mind this is the logic, more guns = more bullets fired = more people dead. There are better ways to protect yourselves than using guns people. Anyone else agree?

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: ASK HN: FREE FOOD?

1. No I probably would not because of the hustles it involves. 2. No I not unless I was homeless and broke. And if so I would most likely only look for unopened things. Otherwise I might as well just look in dumpsters by myself.

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: Ask HN: How do you handle sudden suprise scaling?

Sometimes good isn't good enough. I don't know what kind of community you run or anything about your hosting/everything around it.

Maybe it's time for you to look into some way to either invest yourself by loan or find someone else investing in it for you. If the growth is so exponential as you make it sound, this would end up in profit for the company and you either way.

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: Swedish Pulbic Service channel shows a show called "Men that net-hate women".

This show is strictly an ad for the feminist party in Sweden at the same time it's used to try to push the limit of anonymity online. Aswell as they put the responsibility at companies to moderate their Facebook "forums", in this case it was Hennes & Mauritz what about next time? Should the companies be responsible for cleaning up their Facebook chats/comments even to their not an IT-related company?

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: How to swear in Swedish

Alot of those sentences and words are wrong or just outdated.

For example: "Har du piss i huvudet, eller?" I've never heard anyone say that in my life, if someone by chance would use it. Sure by the tone its used by, the person who hear it will know the meaning of it. But at the same time don't really care because of the time-line it actually was used, the person using it wouldn't be perceived as a threat.

Sure the Swedish has a unique way of swearing and insults. But the most frequently used like, "shit/skit" and idiot. Both are also frequently used in the English language with the exact same meaning.

Must work at microsoft, only once actually mentioning the word "great" and "windows 8" in the same sentence do to make it seem better than it is.

Shalle | 13 years ago | on: Thinking of Selling on eBay using Paypal? Think Again

Paypal is the most fraudulent company that I've done business with. There for I never sell anything anymore using it, purchase is ok but also risky. A friend of mine purchased an engine part on ebay but received a brick insted. Paypal then refused to give the money back because he had signed it out.

In total I've lost 1000's of dollars due to Paypal just handing it back to the fraudster. It doesn't matter what you say or what evidence you got. Me personally have never won a paypal dispute as a mercher.

My recommendation to other people, I know its a loss of customers but LibertyReserve, bitcoins or old fashion bankwire is as safe as it gets.
