on: Ask HN: Two LinkedIn profiles, acceptable, advisable?
Yes, I understand, and it's the right approach to go with you are and play that angle to the max. I wish I was that guy sometimes, but being somewhat uptight and button up has its perks. There tends to be a lot of immaturity in the professional world, and extra trust is rewarded to us boring types. In your world the exact opposite could be true :)
Well, I would still love to hear thoughts on this. I'm thinking that for me I really need a 2nd profile. However that means building one from scratch, and also making sure it's OK with LinkedIn's TOS.

I guess it depends on your $DAYJOB. If you've cultivated a very straight laced, highly dependable profile for top tier firms, that pay big, and want to feel that they're getting someone who's entrenched in their business for the foreseeable future, a startup reference can be a very odd distraction and just the thing to push you down a notch when being compared to another candidate. For those folks, the question still stands.

on: Ask HN: What should you know before contracting with a Hong Kong firm?
Thanks for the detailed response. I think my real question is whether if because of some disagreement, that my firm would be forced by law to fly to Hong Kong to argue with them in court. Clearly that seems like a ridiculous expectation, but I have no idea what kind of laws exist between countries about these things. It would seem to me that if they sued our firm in HK court, that our presence is at our own option. Not that we plan or look forward to such an occurrence, but we want to fully understand the risks.

on: Ask HN: Will using Creative Commons text in your site affect your rights?
Thanks. In my case the ShareAlike feature made it impossible to use the content. Oh well, glad I was careful to read the license thoroughly.

Answering my own question, it seems if the user of the CCL is using the "ShareAlike" version, the answer is yes, your entire work must be released under the same license.
