This reminds me of a debate we're having in Sweden presently around architecture. Most contemporary architects seem to prefer buildings as big concrete blocks while most "common folk" would prefer something... less modern? A perfect example is the new art museum which you can see here https://www.svd.se/liljevalchs-tillbyggnad--ett-bankvalv-for.... I personally find it revolting, but am I then the person without taste?

I find this interesting, Why is Parler a right-wing thing? Why do right-wingers feel the need for a different platform without censorship? Why doesn't left wing people feel the same need? I would assume both wings are equally censored?

For what it is worth, I'm not on either platform and I'm convinced platforms such as these are a net-negative for humankind. I understand this is super-political and may not lend itself to an online discussion.

Out of curiosity, in what way is Wil Wheaton incredibly toxic and how does he turn people to the alt-right? I did some googling, but couldn't find anything specific.

I understand you feel Swedish law is too harsh on this, but surely that is besides the point since Assange was in Sweden at the time of the alleged crime? It doesn't really matter if his actions qualifies as rape in any other country or not if they do in Sweden (which was for the courts to decide).

Not sure if this is a joke or a mistake since the English "glass" is "glas" in Swedish, but the Swedish "glass" is "ice cream" in English. The correct translation in Swedish would be "Jag kan äta glas, det skadar inte mig".

You are correct on Finland, you are wrong on Sweden. In fact, Sweden is not even mentioned in your source so not sure where you got it from.

Finland does. Sweden and Denmark do not. Norway I don't know, but suspect not.

The Swedish Bank ID also disallows copy/paste of passwords. When I contacted the company that builds the solution I got more or less the same response, "it is safer for normal users" which I didn't really understand. Highly annoying.

He is going to a conference obviously, but how does he prove that his intent is "purely non-immigrant" besides that? I mean, it seems to me this could be used to deny anyone entry since you can't very well prove it (I think) if it is not enough that you say that you are not trying to work or immigrate.

Or am I misunderstanding something?

Please provide sources for your statement that "3/4 of university opportunities goes to women". I did a quick check at SCB which keep these kinds of statistics for Sweden and I can't find any support for it. I also tried to find support for your statement on parental disputes, but the numbers I could find differs from yours there as well.

There have been many discussions on trying to even the gender-gap for certain professions, for example getting more men to be teachers (or getting more women interested in IT). I do not know how successful they are or if they are worthwhile, but I don't see a clear gender bias.

I find it interesting and telling that you don't present any sources for your argument. Which paper in Sweden does the "Swedish intellectuals" read now? I think it is still DN, but would be interested to hear your sourced argument why this isn't true.

I think the point OP is trying to make is that it is very easy to eat in excess (calorie-wise) to what you are burning by training since physical activity will often make you crave more food. Doing some kind of training is obviously good for you, but you will not necessarily lose weight if you don't restrict your caloric intake.

Just like intelligence differs, your ability to gain or lose weight is not the same as other peoples'. In my experience it is not fair, but on the other hand, what is?

I would recommend something like the slow carb diet (Tim Ferriss), but anything that restrict your intake of calories and that you feel you can sustain over a long period of time is good.

If you are going out into a public park surely you must expect to meet other people and the inconvenience that may cause you? I would also think that the pollution from cars (or from the leaf blower or any other equipment used to keep the park nice) would be a much bigger concern than anyone vaping? I imagine it must be terribly annoying living close to other people if you are disturbed by such minor things, but perhaps I'm wrong.

I feel this is a straw man. I'm Swedish, but have always loved the US for some strange reason. I still do, but that doesn't mean that the US is perfect in any way, shape or form. It is a fantastic country with many flaws. You are obviously right in much of what you write, but that does not excuse a lot of the things that NSA et. al. does in the name of freedom. My point is just that we should not hold ourselves to the lowest of standards ("We're better than <non-democratic country" is not a good excuse).
