It's good to remember the following maxim, no matter what you're building:

> If you build it, they will abuse it.

Not that you shouldn't build anything, but it's better to threat model the abuse cases early on in design so that you have a chance.

This is where things are heading, especially for business or corporate 'consumers':

Need web hosting? Certainly you can't deal with a 2Tbps DDoS attack, so let's route that traffic through Cloudflare.

Sending email? Can't send it out with those /23s you have, they're on some blacklist from a shady DNSBL provider. Need to pay for GSuite or Office365.

Can't protect your CEO against a targeted attack? GSuite Advanced Protection or Microsoft ATP has you covered.

But Amazon gets the same audience, in addition to others! The initial spending on personal/corporate cards from engineers who need to get work done drives the adoption of AWS.

Amazon learned with AWS that you can generate extreme profit when the devops team expenses instances/lambdas/absolutelyEverything on their company card. Click/click/click, spend. What is the result? Customers then create Organizations and accounts, and pay orders of magnitude more.

QUFB | 5 years ago | on: Apple declined to implement 16 Web APIs in Safari due to privacy concerns

Apple is a corporation listed on a US exchange, an entity where the only motivation is to generate profit for shareholders. It helps for corporations to frame business decisions in moral terms. If Apple cares about privacy, it is only because there is alignment with profit. If Apple cares about locking out APIs that disrupt their App Store profit, it doesn't hurt to frame the decision in privacy terms.

Currently my desire for both privacy, convenience, and usability align with Apple's current business decisions, so I choose iPhone. When Apple pivots to a new business model, I'll find the best compromise product.

Yes, or at least it blocks effects if you take it pre-exposure. Risperidone, an atypical antispychotic, is also known for this. Some idiotic big pharma startup will try and milk this, rather than examining cheap existing medications. Plenty of medications block 5-HT2A, I think the important requirement here would be rapid absorption and high receptor occupancy.

Keep in mind, the middle might be very narorw.

Just last year, in the official Christmas Tree in Minneapolis precinct 4 headquarters, discarded malt liquor containers and menthol cigarette packages were used as ornaments:

What perspective make you happy about taking a middle road around a police force, and society, that tolerated this? The police haven’t needed to hide their outright motives: it’s race, whether it’s killing someone or decorating a Christmas tree. Other officers don’t speak up. Enjoy the privilege, I do and am more than aware.

For me, it isn't worth expending the mental energy editing Wikipedia. I'd be exhausted seeing the arbitrary deletion of articles like this; fighting Wikipedia policy warriors, who have all the WP:TLA and WP:FLA rules memorized; fighting PoV warriors, the successful ones who are also policy warriors; fighting cliques who take unofficial ownership of articles.

And maybe it's just me, but I don't get the impression that most very light editors of Wikipedia have even made a single proposal for deletion.

And the Wikideletionists have flagged it already (not already I suppose, the article is 11 years old)!

If I can figure out the right button to press to get a human, I explain to the Chinese scammers that my Mandarin is really poor, but that I would love to hear what they think about the 6/4 Incident.
