Programmers don't suffer from a lack of leverage and bargaining power.
I regularly renegotiate my salary and benefits, and I have no desire to share any of that with a union.
If you are a programmer and you are not making what you think you deserve you have no one to blame but yourself.

Facebook/Google are already working with credit agencies and law enforcement.
We make China out to be the big bad guy, but all they do is follow our example.

I am constantly dumbfounded when I see "lean" startups shelling out for macbooks.
If you really want to save money and run a lean operation go linux.
