yeah, i agree. if setting up seed funding is too complicated, starting regular meets or something like startup school will still be very beneficial. In fact, that will help more than hard cash.

Apart from infrastructure, a community like this is also non-existent. As they say, this business is based as much on who you know as what you know. But nevertheless, i'll try to make up for that by following YC-news (and putting things in Indian context). The opportunities for growth in India is HUGE, especially now with overall improvement in infrastructure and growing number of internet users.

Thank you. I'll be posting the progress on my blog.
Currently i'm dabbling with a couple of ideas. Nothing grand; small ideas that might just work. I will take some time to refine them before i pick one and proceed.

getting a co-founder turned out to be a problem actually. though most of my friends appreciated the idea/effort, none is actually willing to give up the security of well-paying jobs to come work on a startup.
PS: i'm in India. and startups have not really caught on as well here as they have in US.

well i'm not worried about quitting the job. its 'doing the startup' well part. i have a couple of ideas and not too afraid to fail either. its just that sometimes these voices at the back of my mind keep telling me otherwise :)

on: I quit
i have in fact decided to do the same thing. Though i decided to quit about a couple weeks ago, i'm taking some more time to sort things out before i actually quit.
Its nice to see you do that.. puts different voices in the back of my head to rest.
