I have read Impro and found it quite good yet can't remember anything related to newtonian mechanics... but I wanted to read it again anyway :)

they said the same with Nokia about valuation. They were saying only it's patents are worth 7 B ... but at some point all NOK was valued at 6.1 B . It has recovered since, but the idea is that you can burn your cash real quickly if you're not earning new income

andreyon | 13 years ago | on: My new app - what do you think?

if your target market is not hardcore computer geeks that can read your mind, I'd suggest asking a copywriter to help you with the site. I honestly don't understand what is your product about and what a use case is.

andreyon | 13 years ago | on: Something is wrong with my generation, i.e. what happened to the social network

Exactly. Picking on any specific category makes me sad about human kind. For example I like to joke about Italians and their food obsession, but I'm not laughing AT them, I am not viewing myself as superior. Most times cultural differences are awesome to observe, none is better than the other.

It's so easy, in case things go bad and, say, a war starts, to fight against other categories. Think cartoons making fun of jews in the 1930's -> the holocaust.

:) Fair, but think of this scenario: you are supporting a cause but you don't want to spam your friends by reminding it all the time. A signature is a good use case in this situation, you can post something of value to your friends and add a small notice about the cause you're supporting.

Man I hate paypal. I wish everyone would just stop using this junk. They are much much worse than any government in the world who just sucks taxes out of the brave one who starts a business. PayPal is such a risk for merchants, most don't even realize. I had funds blocked for 6 months and appeals denied ( not even read IMO ) for complying 110% with their terms. Just stop using PayPal.

wow, that's really cool!

can they make a side by side comparator? it doesn't have to actually compare, can be just another frame ( or frames) where I can select the same and do the comparison myself.

For example I want to see the differences in raw broccoli and steamed broccoli.

andreyon | 14 years ago | on: I Did What I Loved and Nearly Destroyed Myself

So from the post "doing what you love" was sex and getting in debt. No wonder you nearly "destroyed" yourself.

Follow your bliss as a human being. If you have a calling in being a great scientist, fine, otherwise you can still follow your bliss in the most boring (apparently) job in the world.

Joseph Campbell kicks ass. You need to center your shit together and mature.

There is an offline Google Docs tool. It's called GDriveSync ( www.gdrivesync.com). It's a sync tool between local computer and Google Docs. When offline - it uploads/ syncs changes when back online. Of course the local computer editor has to be MS Office, Open Office anything other than Google Docs... but you get your changes in Google Docs - automatically.
