So "ruby" is not a play on "perl"? I don't believe it.

So that .Spotlight-V100 store some kind of index, probably binary. I presume that any Mac reads it on any arbitrary USB drive it's plugged in (or, at least, when a search is triggered). By creating a specially-crafted, corrupted index I see a channel for denial of service attacks.

on: JSON5 is a proposed extension to JSON
Commas and colons are unnecessary clutter in JSON, that's what they should change, not adding more complexity in exchange for nothing (dangling commas at the end? please). Quotes inside keys and values should also be optional unless they contain spaces.
JSON should be simplified (if any), not made it more complicated.

It sounds like a hoax to me. Even the "Dragos Ruiu" name is odd enough to be an anagram of something.

on: Am I An Outlier, Or Are Apple Products No Longer Easy To Use?
That's another myth. Apple products had never been easy to use. iTunes is heavy and cumbersome and play lists never work as expected. Wheel iPods had erratic behaviour and its random/shuffling were crap.
And please don't start talking about XCode and development in general.
Things have worsen these times. "Acceptably understandable" is not the same as "easy".
