Already found something quicker I would buy using this than the standard google results, thanks so much! Love how it blends in seamlessly with my searches too.

Damn, I’ve already found two products I’ve been searching for for months via google and ending up with the same results. Ty!

I definitely agree that Facebook could improve on the whole video sharing experience. Right now, videos are discovered via popular pages, which means you've got to like them and then have your feed flooded by content you weren't necessarily going to watch; a dedicated page for videos could be great. Anyway, keep it up - nice mockups!
Oh, and yes to putting an end to comments where everyone is tagging their friends.

on: How Facebook could make Groups so much better
So, I agree that this may complicate the experience depending on how it's implemented, but as I mention in the post, if you're not a power user and don't want to see all of this - FB could maybe place a switch in group settings that could turn all of these extra features on. Features like moderators, tags, can easily be ignored if you don't need/use them.

Exactly! When I was telling me friend about the post he kept saying "that sounds like a forum." But I guess the point here is, Facebook can maintain that great casual social network feel and still make Groups a lot more powerful than it already is.

I was hoping Rooms was one step in that direction, but I'm pretty sure they're treating it as a separate product, given how you can also stay anonymous etc.

on: What if Valve brought Steam to mobile?
I definitely think they can compete against Game Center with this. I know I'd pick Steam over Game Center any day given that I game on my PC a lot. However, the App Store is a tricky one on iOS because of the restrictions Apple imposes. It's possible on Android. But on iOS maybe you'd have offers like get the promo code for the mobile version of the game via Humble Bundle or something? Not so sure.

Oh for sure, similar to the way OnLive were doing it. I'd call this feature a game changer.
Edit: added this to my blog post quoting you.

So, I don't think Apple has a policy against social platforms within games. EA, for example, has Origin in FIFA. However, a custom Steam game store would only be possible on Android.

Yeah, this is very true but when we do get titles like Slender, XCOM, Five Night's, and more that are pretty much full clones - I feel like this should be done.

on: Connecting the UK Student Tech Scene
While this is great, it is pretty hard to find students attend all of this regularly. Also, university is where most students will naturally spend their time. In the US especially, there's a great balance of things happening in the local tech community and at College. I would say you need to be a bit involved in both, but your university should primarily have the environment to allow you to start looking into all of the other things happening around you in the first place.

This is very true as well. There is a lot happening outside of University that is easy to access. Or at least in London.
KCL has actually been a lot more accommodating since KCL Tech started to take off post-hackathon. We've got great plans in store for the coming year too. Do drop by and say hi! Looking forward to meeting at our events :)

on: Connecting the UK Student Tech Scene
I'm glad to hear about your successes at UCL, but I think you've missed the point of my blog post. I am not discrediting the tech scene at all. In fact, half way through the post I admit that we thought the problem was inactivity when in fact it was just being disconnected.
UCL might have done all of these awesome things, but a lot of people outside UCL did not know about it. We want to connect the UK tech scene as a whole and get people to notice all of these great achievements. There are tons of great societies and people should know about what they're doing.
The title speaks for itself, it's about connecting the UK student tech scene.
