That already helps significantly. :)

> I have nothing to say so don't host

A fair point, probably only a small % of people on the internet need to actualyl host something. There is some middle ground with federated hosting like write.as , so hosting is not always needed.

People complain a lot about the internet getting worse and worse. We can fix it, if we put in the effort to rebuild it.

* Join fediverse services, e.g. [Lemmy](feddit.de) or Mastodon and post a bit.

* Create your own website if you have sth like a cool hobby to share. Webhosting is available for free or cheap, depending on what you want. Link other pages you like to form a net.

* If you can, host your own instances and federate.

* Look into alternative search engines like marginalia to find "small-web" content

* Talk to your friends to also make the move or at least look at alternatives to the large sites.

We can't just wait for the problem to fix itself, this is something where internet users have to become active. It won't solve itself.

EDIT: Commenters here are rightly saying that discoverability is a problem. Again, relying on search engines is required for productivity, but when we consider browsing for research or leisure, don't underestimate manually curated link pages. Webrings were a thing we might wanna consider again.

> commit crimes

Is this really a crime? The tool does not redistribute copyrighted material for example. It only reshapes video sent to your device, allowing you to decide which parts to view.

I mostly based my experiment on this website [1]. There's no documentation about it yet, bust basically I alloyed zinc and antimony in a crucible at 700°C and splat-cooled it (pour onto a steel surface and squish the cooling metal with a copper block). The resulting disk is quite brittle. I mounted it in a improvised clamp, between a copper and german silver electrode. No diode behaviour could be measured.

I think my backyard metallurgy is not very precise though. Also, my current way of holding the sample might be all kinds of bad. So some more messing around is needed

Well, most EVs have weak 12V batteries to power computers, lights etc. They are not designed to output the amps needed to turn an engine. That makes sense for the EV since it saves a lot of weight. And the main batteries are usually 400V to 800V, which you can't use to jump another car (or you can use it once, at most).

Privacy at its core is a preventative measure against being controlled. The state, a corporation or other individuals have an easier time exerting influence over you if they know more about you. Obtaining information is a largely automated task today.

And sure, your country might be fine now, but over the course of history a lot of people suddenly woke up to their government turning totalitarian. Same goes for your insurance, your school, your workplace: All can suddenly work against you and it is preferable to avoid giving them too much information to use against you.

This still leaved the gap for small cars you can cram 4 people inside + some luggage unfilled. Also, are manufacturers taking L7e vehicles seriously, or are they styling them like toys still? Early EVs suffered form car companies deliberately making them look non-serious.
