I've found nothing but issues with OpenAi and Github's AI. The former was significantly better but has deteriorated rapidly to the point where it's more frustrating and inane to use at this point than is worth my time. The latter has never really been super helpful. I think the tiny one-liners are really nice...it's a bit like very smart code completion. However, there's nothing close to GPT4's capabilities from April/May.

There's no explicit reason not to use anaconda if you're okay with being vendor locked to anaconda's interpreter/environment. Anaconda is primarily developed with the data scientist in mind over the software developer. And the ecosystem Continuum Analytics has built with Anaconda reflects that design/vision.

Supposedly (and I have yet to see this consistently work in action) the efficiency comes from collaboration that naturally happens when there are no physical barriers.

What I generally see is I find out more about my co-workers lives and their interests than the increase in productivity and innovation from the team.

Is it a generation gap? Old programmer vs new? The open office trend may be the death of my 2 decade career in writing software.

I do not need a spacious office: a room with a door, a distinct lack of distracting windows, and a 4x6 desk and an overflow side table would be perfect. Closing a door means I can focus and block out traffic, noise and the general hubbub of an office.
