Sometimes this happens with Heroku when uploading things to the database. Make sure all your database credentials are up and correct.

The benefit is that if you did it with an encrypted USB that you keep with a lawyer, every time you make a new account or change your username or password, you would have to get the USB back, re-write the txt file, then give it back. Whereas here, it may be easier to update your information in this fashion

on: Amazon Losing $10 on Every Kindle Fire
Well, this just exemplifies what everyone has been saying; that amazon's business model isn't the hardware, it's what's sold after that initial buying of the hardware.
So they lose $10 per tablet, but people buy a lot more then that in merchandise.

i am 16 years old so i think that the main thing is not to shove anything down his throat. if you do that, he will intrinsically hate that thing, most of the time. and just have him read, think, be intellectual. and the rest has to come from him

on: Ask HN: Why not hide vote counts on links as well?
i agree with the quality needing some adjustment, there are waayyy to many osama links posted. its getting kinda annoying.
but in terms of the links. well, i was already against hiding the votes for comments, but, i feel like if the votes are hidden from links, i would have NO clue what to read or whats just junk

on: Tell HN: Please bring back comment scores
yeh, logic wins arguments. but people will upvote the comment that is most logical, which should also be the correct one. if a comment is illogical, then its also incorrect. so basically, the right and logical ones will get upvoted. whule the stupid, illogical, and wrong ones will get downvoted

on: Tell HN: Please bring back comment scores
so why cant we start down voting with less karma, as opposed to now it being 500. so more people could counteract your issue. AND i think that if a comment has more upvotes, then they DID win the argument and that should be seen that they won.

on: Ask HN: what do you do with ideas you have no way of implementing yourself?
well, i think that a main aspect is definitely dedication. if you have to handle a full time job while doing this project, so be it it, you gotta live. but then every other second should be on this project. if that doesnt happen, then the project wont happen.
another aspect, i think, is an awesome partner. going with PGs' philosophy of you almost always need a partner to succeed. but good luck =)

yeh, then norm is .com
anything besides that will just hinder users from getting to your site simply due to confusion.
i highly recommend simply doing .com
