I doubt it will have a long term impact on other markets. Other markets aren't anywhere near as overvalued. Markets have been expecting this since mid 2015. There isn't going to be a liquidity crisis, if anything it will make Chinese goods cheaper as the RMB is devalued. This couldn't be more different than 2008.

I'd predict that we're going to see a depressed Baltic Dry for the foreseeable future, and it will likely never reach the 2007/8 era highs again. As we continue to see slowing global demand for coal/oil and growing demand for renewable energy, bulk shipping volumes will continue to stay low.

Just another example of the blatant cronyism and corruption that goes on in bloated defense contracts with limited oversight.

We need a new model for how the DOD and gov as a whole handle software contracts. Our existing procurement models just fall flat on their face with software - Healthcare.gov as another example.

Black projects are a way of life at the CIA, so it's really not that much of a stretch to suggest that the money went to to other projects. It's pretty much accepted that CIA budget reports sent to the GAO are basically farces.

EHRs are starting to open up more. EPIC (largest EHR vendor in the US by market share) just opened an API for some types of medical data. AllScripts and Athena also have open-ish APIs. 5 years ago none, and I mean literally zero, of the EHRs had APIs.

A small number of bees when placed with a queen will quickly produce a full size hive. Bee hives have a size limit, so dividing them into two smaller hives produces rapid population growth. A queen bee can lay 1000 eggs a day.
