When I search for a band, I get results in the autocomplete/dropdown but when I hit the "find music" button, it says not found.

It's pretty cool, but I think the layout needs work. It's more vertical than I'd like.

A web site that connects design & development entrepreneurs. It exists to make creating apps easier by connecting you with like-minded designers & developers with the same goal: create cool & useful apps. Build It With Me will help you bootstrap your ideas into actual apps.

Why'd we make it? Because we want to make it easier for likeminded developers and designers to meet and collaborate with one another. In other words, we want to help folks actually build the lovely projects they're thinking about.

JavaScript disabled on Yahoo home page:

http://developer.yahoo.com/blogs/ydn/posts/2010/10/how-many-...

"After crunching the numbers, we found a consistent rate of JavaScript-disabled requests hovering around 1% of the actual visitor traffic, with the highest rate being roughly 2 percent in the United States...

The second takeaway is that JavaScript-disabled users exist. While 2% of U.S. visitors may not seem like a lot, keep in mind that over 300 million users visit the Yahoo! homepage each month. That means 6 million users visit each month without the benefit of JavaScript...While the percentage of visitors with JavaScript disabled seems like a low number, keep in mind that small percentages of big numbers are also big numbers. "

He used to work at Yahoo. That's where I met him and while I never worked on a team with him, he seemed like a nice guy. Definitely smart, though his blog/writing style may come across as arrogant to some. I would have loved to end up on a team with him as I'm sure I could have learned a lot from him.

They want top talent but don't want to pay for it, all the while dangling the 'could easily turn into a full-time job' carrot in front of them.

Problem is, top talent is not this stupid.

cancelbubble | 15 years ago | on: My site looks like $hit any designers want to make a couple of hundred bucks

You're not looking for just a designer, you're looking for a designer and front-end developer. Rarely do you find someone who is good at both.

Minimum wage is around $8/hour and $200 gives you 25 hours (3 working days). This is for custom design, custom cross-browser development and testing. Yeah, you say you're OK with some repurposed design but that isn't really going to solve your problem.

Can you not do better than $200? If you could do $500 I bet you'd get a different caliber of responses - assuming you don't request change after change after change. Even $500 is absolute peanuts, though.

Regardless, this is just my 2 cents. Good luck.

cancelbubble | 15 years ago | on: Lettering.js: A jQuery plugin for radical web typography

I saw this not terribly long ago, seems like it might have accessibility issues as it wraps each letter in a span so I wonder. if. screenreaders. would. read. each. letter. as. a. single. word.

Also wonder perhaps about SEO issues - does the google bot execute javascript?
