Have fond memory of LAN party. My childhood city had a lot of net cafes, some big ones have 3 floors with each floor about 100 people playing.

During new year holidays, I could spent 10+ hours everyday with my two uncles playing CS 1.5 there, having meals at our computer desks. The contrast between super cold outdoor (-20 degree Celsius) and cozy warmth indoor provides extra sense of satisfaction.

My younger uncle was so good at it that we could hear one frustrated player from another side of the floor shouting at the game server manger asking to kick my uncle’s player out.

Their ATMs are pretty handy. It does not require a physical card - you can just tap your phone on the ATM to withdraw cash. Also there’s lots of ATM locations in north California which is pretty convenient if you happened to need cash.

One thing I do not understand though is that when deposit via their mobile app, they ask you to write something like “Used for Wells Fargo mobile deposit” on the check, which is a pain, not sure how other banks do it.

My small LLC is affected by this. Anyone know a good alternative? I'm exploring creating a legacy business plan bank account like Wells Fargo, looks like they waive the monthly fee with $500 min deposit, which is the smallest among the big name banks.

I used to live on a steep hillside of San Francisco and the car noise was so bad. Car engines were so loud when they go uphill.

After that, I became so cautious of the noise issue that whenever I’m looking for a place to live, I look out for steep hill, train tracks, police station, hospitals, main street (the ones with double yellow lines), highway, airport, air plane ascending and descending routes.

Are serious miners using consumer grade graphic card for mining today? I thought they’d customize their own GPU solution and that the used GPUs because of bubble burst would not be usable for consumers.

If you want faster Intellij experience, you can try disable built-in plug-ins and features you don’t need, power saving mode is one quick way to disable heavyweight features.

If WFH becomes the new norm for a company, the concept of HQ would become irrelevant, companies I know are planning to fill physical work space with hotel seats, then you should be able to grow career via WFH no problem.
