I only want to point out, UBER isn't profiting from anything. They are literally burning money to subsidize their growth.

Appears to me that Uber just really did not want to allow a government to dictate what exactly their vehicle & technology actually is. I wonder if their logic is that by applying, they've set a precedent that their vehicle is fully autonomous, and also that local governments can now try to regulate them under this area.

They already fought the existing taxicab legislation, I think they're trying to outrun/ignore autonomous car legislation for as long as possible.

One of my grade school teachers was steadfast in making sure we never got away with saying "I was just joking!". Aside from how absurd this topic is, it was some of the best advise I ever received.

One of the more in-depth looks at a very promising technology. There are very few companies rolling out networks like this in the United States (there is better coverage/adoption in the EU). It would be great to use this as an alternative to costly cellular networks (both in dollars and in battery life).

Agreed on the R1C1 mode. Its very helpful to explain "this is what is actually going on behind the curtain", which is likely why he stresses it so much when speaking with developers. However, its really unnecessary in the 'real world'.

To be honest I'd recommend an Office 365 subscription and use Excel in the browser, if you are unwilling to get a mac/windows installation with a desktop app.

Perhaps its a 'purest' mentality, but if you're going to learn how to use a spreadsheet app, may as well learn the one that is most well known and widely used. As the video shows, Google Apps, Numbers, and the rest of them really are missing core features.

Joel didn't even get into VBA scripting - thats some advanced stuff that once you realize you need it, but you're stuck in Google Apps...... well, maybe this crowd is smart enough just to make a web app to solve the issue haha! Myself? I stick to Excel.

everyone employed to a relevant position at our company takes a pretty in depth excel assessment so we know what they need taught on Day 1.

Named ranges/tables is always top of the list!

edit: business schools usually make you take an excel course/exam your first year. Its always awful, using some absurdly priced flash-based webapp from 2003 that has such strict validation on answers/inputs, you often struggle just to input your answer because you solved it in a different manner than they expect. So, the IBs likely think you know Excel before getting in the door (which is not always the case).

This is great, I use LetsEncrypt for my company. however, the graph is a little misleading. Lets look closer:

LetsEncrypt is almost built upon the idea of frequently (and automatically) re-issuing your certificate(s). The graph's line shows what appears to be an accumulated sum of certificates issued by day.

If every 90 days most certificate(s) expire, of course the graph will look like that!

Whats most interesting to me is the steps up in the graph. It appears that the steps in the graph roughly occur on 70-90 day intervals.

Impressive growth for a great mission/service, but I wanted to point out the mechanics behind the graph. Hopefully others can offer some alternative perspectives!

I set up chatlio over 5 months ago for my business. I do not have enough positive things to say about it. We close over 20% of our Chatlio conversations. Here are other highlights:

- Took me under 5 mins to sign up and have this running on our entire site. They use a good CDN, because adding it to our site has had no noticeable increase in page load times.

- Highly accessible. Chatlio leverages all of the notification features built into slack. I couldn't ask for more. Our entire team had access when it was set up, without needing to create new accounts, or log into another site on yet another Chrome tab.

- Great customizations. Check their site for full details, but coloring, language, and contextual stuff (what to say when there is no attendant, etc) is super easy to work with.

- John (the lead at Chatlio, I believe) has been nothing but helpful. When I asked for help making the chat appear on a 10 second time delay, he had the code back to me in less than 20 mins. I was impressed.

- They are already making great updates. They recently launched a 'take screenshot' feature, message editing, and have reporting and operator rating features in the pipeline.

My company struggled with implementing and making a profit center out of live chat functionality. Chatlio has been fantastic. Its worth every penny.

My company has been building newer internal apps with Vue.js for the past few months. Its been fantastic so far.

Putting my 2 cents in - I think this is a really cool idea. While I'm not actively looking for a co-founder I'd love to read a regular post and see if I could lend a hand to a new project.

Personal note - HelloSign and HelloFax are sweet. We use HelloFax alot more than Hello Sign, but both made my startup's daily operations a lot easier.

Highly recommended, and we've been with them for 2+ years!
