What about a start-up that is on the ground level and doesn't have traction?? Has a solid concept but is in need of a kick ass developer to really make the project take off...whats the best route in that situation?

I think this is a great way off attacking it. Establishing a rapport and learning how you can set yourself apart from the other sites out there is crucial. Getting this info directly from the source and getting them involved in the process will be able to help you bring them on as clients!
